ESG is a “fee for service” engineering firm that specializes in addressing the unique needs of existing buildings within the public sector. These publicly owned facilities include K–12 and higher education as well as many branches of government. For their respective public administrators, these buildings represent not only a significant initial investment, but a large portion of their operating budgets and a potential long term liability if proper planning is not done. ESG was formed specifically to provide solutions for the many challenges facing this public sector.

From our founding approximately ten years ago, to today, our objective has always been to build and structure ESG in a manner that best serves the interests of this special marketplace. Our key principles have always been:

Remain Vendor Neutral: We give you an unbiased perspective. We have the ability to work with any manufacturer, service provider or utility company, we are able to provide objective facility assessments and suggest the most cost-effective equipment and energy source for your project. You will be in full control of the selection process.

Provide Financial Support: Even the best crafted plans are of no value without proper funding to implement the course of action. ESG has the financial expertise to help uncover and evaluate all the funding vehicles available to the public sector. Many of our solutions involve three to six methods of funding and result in a neutral impact on both your operating budget and your total annual tax levy. We will work with all the governing oversight departments to ensure your solution is sound and meets all their requirements.

Deliver Unmatched Technical Expertise: We have assembled the finest team of engineers and specialists in the Midwest. Our mission is to make dysfunctional buildings function, and that requires special skills. ESG staff includes registered Professional Engineers (PEs), Certified Energy Managers (CEMs), other certified technicians, construction administrators, controls specialists and project managers. No other organization's team has more experience working with the public sector.
