Job Title: Lead Project Development Engineer
Description: Energy Services Group is rapidly expanding their HVAC Professional Services business and is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer. Location is in the upper Midwest, preferably the Twin Cities area – our company office is in Wayzata, MN. This position may home office at least part of the time. Qualified candidates should possess the qualifications listed below, be enthusiastic, team players and desire an independent work environment.
Position description: This position is responsible for the management of engineering required to complete various project construction documents. The individual will be the lead engineer on all HVAC company projects. The individual is also responsible for hardware development, design, implementation and testing of independent systems and product level solutions for building control products. The individual must utilize project management tools to estimate and plan development projects, monitor project cost and progress, report project status and hold project reviews.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
- 5-10 years engineering design experience desired
- Strong knowledge and understanding in energy management
- Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
- Advanced problem solving skills
- Advanced understanding of technical issues
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Advanced understanding of development and design methodologies
- Strong sense of urgency and the ability to complete work accurately within deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills and a high degree of detail orientation
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Major Responsibilities And Duties:
- Responsible for meeting all engineering objectives on a project
- Coordinate, supervise, and integrate all internal project engineering activities
- Provide guidance and assistance to other team members
- Obtain technical information from equipment suppliers
- Perform construction administrative services, including site observation visits and shop drawing reviews
- Provide innovative solutions for potential future issues
- Thoroughly understand the plans and specifications of a building
- Evaluate project performance of functional areas
